Dr. Misty R. Gargan, DC

misty

Pre-Natal Care Specialist

Dr. Misty Gargan first got under chiropractic care after hurting her neck playing tennis at Lynnwood Highschool. "Chiropractic care helped restore balance to my spine & nervous system, which allowed me to not miss a single match & achieve a varsity letter as a freshman!"

Dr. Misty still gets adjusted once a week to keep her immune system strong, to help her keep up with her nephew, and to get her ready for her annual dad's backpacking trip. She is also very active in the community (maybe you've heard of her?). She has a burning desire to vacation on a vineyard in Italy and one day wants to create a scholarship foundation.

Dr. Misty has focused her post graduate education on pregnancy & pediatric care, gentle instrument adjusting techniques, and Biophysics technique. She specializes in pregnancy care and has helped dozens of women have more comfortable and successfull pre-natal experiences.

Dr. Andrew Shannahan, DC

Dr. Shannahan was inspired to become a chiropractor way back in elementary school. "My best friend's dad was a chiropractor, so at an early age I was exposed to the chiropractic lifestyle. I was intrigued by their family's healthy habits (like avoiding sweets, always taking their vitamins, and not taking medications). Since then, I've learned a lot about why chiropractic is a unique form of healthcare, and I've become a total health nut. I hope that you'll be excited about our different approach!"

Dr. Shannahan still gets adjustments once a week to keep his nervous system free of interference, and to stay connected to his favorite activities like rock climbing, hiking, b-boying, and gardening. He is also part of the Big Brother program and is training to climb El Capitan in Yosemite NP.

His post graduate education has focused on nutrition, rehab exercises, Biophysics technique, and Tour de France protocols with Jeff Spencer (Lance Armstrong's chiropractor). He loves to work with weekend athletes.

Nicole Acton - Chiropractic Assistant

NICOLE BIOPIC

"I love Summit Family because we enjoy being a healthy part of our patient's lives as much as we enjoy giving great chiropractic care."

Nicole was introduced to chiropractic care when she was 18 years old.  Besides getting relief from her hip pain, she also noticed that her immune system was stronger.  She has been getting regular care ever since!

Nicole was born in Costa Rica. She came to the northwest a week before her first birthday with her adopted parents. She stays active by taking a ballroom dance class with her fiancé and doing yoga.  She also loves to shop and enjoys decorating our office for the holidays and events.

Nicole shares her home with two and a half cats.  Her favorite movie is Zoolander.

Cathy Oliver, LMP - Massage Therapist

Cathy has been a massage therapist since 2006.

She worked in Kalamazoo, Michigan before moving to the Seattle area.  Because most of her school hours didn't transfer to Washington, she had to go to massage school again, so she's been through two massage programs!  This has made her a more diverse practitioner, with a wider range of skills.

She loves to work on the shoulders, neck and upper back areas.  She can often provide lots of relief in a short amount of time, including relief from headaches.

She frequently uses trigger point work to get muscles to relax.  This involves finding muscles that are tight & sore and working them till they release and "melt". She is also trained in Craniosacral technique.

Cathy likes to work with a variety of different clients and to help facilitate their healing. She gets really excited about seeing changes and making great improvement in her clients' health.

She plans on taking more classes on Craniosacral technique and learn techniques to help people with jaw pain (TMJ disorders).

During massage school, she worked as a caregiver for the elderly.  She is very kind and compassionate.

Cathy likes to knit/crochet/sew in her free time.  She also wants to learn French and take Salsa dancing lessons.

She has two cats.
